What we collect

HappyTrader stores the trade history and account positions you upload (CSV) or sync through SnapTrade, plus basic account info — username, email, hashed password, and billing metadata from Stripe (no card numbers).

What we do with it

We use it to render your dashboards, recaps, and optional AI insights. We do not sell your data. We do not share your individual trade data with third parties for advertising.

Where it's stored

Your trades live in our analytics warehouse (BigQuery) and our application database (Postgres). Both are hosted on managed cloud providers with encryption in transit and at rest.

Third-party services

We use a small set of vendors to operate the product:

• SnapTrade — if you connect a brokerage. You sign in on your broker's own page. SnapTrade hands HappyTrader a read-only pass; we never see your broker password. Schwab, Fidelity, Vanguard, Robinhood, IBKR, and others go through this one path.
• Stripe — subscriptions. Card data never touches our servers.
• Resend — transactional and product email (password reset, data-ready, weekly recap if you opt in).
• Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude — when you use Insights or Ask AI, we send a deterministic summary of aggregated trading stats (not your password or raw brokerage credentials) to the model you pick.
• Sentry — error monitoring. We strip query strings and sensitive payloads before they leave our servers.
• Render and Google Cloud — hosting the app, Redis cache, and warehouse.

What's public

Nothing. Everything you upload or sync is private to your login — there are no public profiles or shared feeds.

Deleting your data

You can disconnect a broker, remove uploaded accounts, and delete your account from Settings. Deleting cancels a live Stripe subscription, removes warehouse rows, and deregisters the SnapTrade user. If you'd like a copy of your data first, contact us.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes

If we materially change how we handle data, we'll update this page and notify active users by email.
