Trade History: Log in at schwab.com → Accounts → History → Transactions.
Select your account, set the filter to All Transactions, pick a date range, and click Export to download the CSV.
Current Positions: Accounts → Positions → select your account → Export.
Both files are required. We support Schwab's web export format (not thinkorswim).
Is my data secure?
Your trade data is processed and stored in Google BigQuery. We do not store brokerage passwords or have API access to your account—you export and upload CSVs manually.
Passwords are hashed. We recommend using a strong, unique password for your HappyTrader account.
What brokers are supported?
Right now we support Charles Schwab (schwab.com export, not thinkorswim). Additional brokers are planned for the future.
Do I have to re-upload CSVs every day?
No. Once you've done one upload to get started, you can connect Schwab via OAuth from your Account page and we'll pull new transactions on a schedule — no daily export needed.
We never see your Schwab password. The OAuth handshake happens on Schwab's site; Schwab gives us a short-lived, read-only permission to read your activity. You can revoke it at any time.
Can I have multiple accounts?
Yes. Upload data for each account and we'll track them separately. You can filter by account on Positions, Strategies, and other views. Portfolio-wide totals are shown on the Daily Review.
What strategies does HappyTrader recognize?
We auto-detect Covered Calls, Cash-Secured Puts, Wheels, Call Spreads, Put Spreads, Long Calls, Long Puts, Buy and Hold, and other option strategies. Classification is based on your trade patterns—no manual tagging.
What does AI Insights actually do?
AI Insights reads the same numbers we compute from your trades — especially exit timing and giveback vs daily option marks, DTE buckets, and strategy-level performance — and writes a plain-English read of what's working and where you've left money on the table. It surfaces patterns; it does not give financial advice.
You can also ask follow-up questions about your own trading patterns. Every answer is grounded in your data — observations only, not recommendations.
What is the Strategy fit matrix?
A heatmap of every strategy you've used crossed against every sector you've traded. Each cell shows how your real trades performed — expectancy, win rate, and number of trades.
It surfaces sweet spots ("Covered Calls in Tech are paying off") and soft spots ("Cash-Secured Puts in Energy are bleeding"), so you can lean into what works and avoid the corners that don't.
How do you tag sectors and subsectors?
Every ticker you trade is automatically tagged with its sector and subsector using public market data — no manual entry. Your performance rolls up by sector on the Sectors page so you can see at a glance where your edge actually lives.
What does it cost?
Free during beta. Every feature on the site — positions, weekly review, AI Insights, sector breakdowns, strategy fit — is included. See the pricing page for what's planned after beta.
